Twenty-ninth Sunday in Ordinary Time Wed 25th Oct - Bl Thaddeus MacCarthy, bishop Fri 27th Oct - St Otteran, monk Mission Sunday: TODAY is Mission Sunday. Pope Benedict reminds us that love is the driving force of all missionary activity, which cannot leave God and Christ aside. People are hungry for God, not just bread and freedom. Please help missionaries by prayer, offering of suffering and a generous financial contribution to bring the message of love to the whole world. The universality of the Church will be celebrated this Sunday, especially at the 10.30 a.m. and 11.30 a.m. Masses. Mass Times: Please note that for the month October there will be no 7.30 a.m. Mass on weekdays or 9.00 a.m. Mass on Sundays. Canon Lorcan Foley, P.E.: “The Family of the late Canon Lorcan Foley, P.E. wish to thank all those who sympathised with them, attended the funeral, sent Mass cards, messages of condolences and prayed for him. The Holy Sacrifice of the Mass will be offered for all your intentions” Harmony in the Home: You are cordially invited to attend a Unique National Event on Harmony in the Home, where the keynote speaker will be the President of Ireland Mary McAleese, at the Conference Centre, Croke Park on Saturday 11th November 1.30 p.m. to 4 p.m. Admission is free, but limited places are available; book now: 01 838 88 88 / 087 9180777. During this National Event a new book on Harmony in the Home will be launched. Lectio Divina: The Bible Study group, Lectio Divina meets on Wednesdays at 8.00 p.m. in the Presentation Brothers Residence. New members welcome. November List of the Dead: forms for compiling the November list of the dead are now available at the back of the church. Baptisms: We welcome into our Christian family Alice O’Hagen, Ciara Murphy, Leigh Mulvany-Kavanagh, Finn Wallace and Rory McLoughlin who were baptised in St Joseph’s recently. Please pray for the souls of Jack Draper, Dundela Avenue, Brigid (Bawn) McGoldrick, late Rosmeen Park and Paddy Dixon, Eden Villas. May they rest in peace. |
