8th Sunday in Ordinary Time Wed 1st Mar - Ash Wednesday Ash Wednesday: 1st March is Ash Wednesday – a day of fast and abstinence. Readings for Lent: A range of Lenten material is now available from the Parish Bookshop – interesting booklets and pamphlets to suit all ages and price ranges. Many new titles. The bookshop is open after Masses on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Come and see – support your parish. Parish Mission – Eucharistic Prayer Meetings: Members of the families who have offered their homes for Eucharistic Prayer meetings in the week before the Parish Mission – 20th to 24th March - are reminded of the commissioning ceremony which will take place in the Church on next Tuesday 28th March at 8.00 pm. All parishioners would be most welcome to attend. Glasthule 34th Parish Pilgrimage to Lourdes: 30th August 2006. This tour is operated by Joe Walsh Tours (licence number T.O 052). Limited number of seats. Eucharistic Adoration: We could still do with a few more people from 1.00 – 2.30 pm each day. Perhaps you could fill the gap? An Invitation: ‘Come and see’ Jesus said. Are you stressed, too busy, no time for yourself ? Come and join us on Tuesdays 7 – 8 pm for Reflective Prayer before the Blessed Sacrament and allow Jesus to refresh you and restore your peace. He is waiting for you to come. A special time to pray in the Parish for the Parish. Scripture Group: The Scripture Group (Lectio Divina) meet every Wednesday night from 8 pm to 9 pm in the Presentation Brothers’ House, opposite St Joseph’s Church. We use the readings from the Missalette for the following Sunday. We share the readings and try and see what the Lord’s words are saying to each of us. All are welcome, especially readers of the word. Women’s World Day of Prayer: International and Interdenominational, Friday 3rd March . Signs of the Times prepared by the Women of South Africa, 3rd March, Service takes place at The Methodist Church, Northumberland Ave, DunLaoghaire, at 11-00 am. Speaker: Mrs Melanie Verwoerd, former South African Ambassador to Ireland. Men and women welcome. Coffee Shop: Tea/coffee is served in the Parish Centre after 10 Mass, Monday - Friday.
