6th Week in Ordinary Time Last week's special collection for Haiti amounted to €6,056. Thank you all for your generosity. Ash Wednesday: Wednesday next is Ash Wednesday the beginning of Lent and a day of fast and abstinence. Daily Mass times for Lent Monday – Friday at 7.30am and 10am. Thank you for your generous giving last Sunday: €1,678 towards the upkeep of our priests. Stained Glass Fund last Sunday amounted to €772. Lectio Divina: The scripture group Lectio Divina meet each Wednesday at 8pm in the Pastoral Centre. New members will be very welcome. Wildlife Filming interviewed Parishioners and Knitting group last Tuesday about their thoughts on blindness. They are making a film for Sight Savers. Great morning had by all. Premiere will be at a later date. A Big Thank you to everyone who donated wool. Especially the gentleman who left his wife's unfinished symphony. If anyone has spare wool or needles they would be much appreciated to support ladies knitting blankets for Haiti. Accord: The ANNUAL COLLECTION for ACCORD, the Diocesan Agency for Marriage and the Family will be made at all Masses this weekend of 13th and 14th February 2010. This Collection replaces the usual Share Collection. ACCORD Dublin throughout the diocese offers:
Dun Laoghaire Borough Historical Society are holding a talk in the Kingston Hotel on Wednesday next the17th February at 8pm. The talk is entitled “The Building of Dun Laoghaire Harbour” and will be given by Colin Scudds. Shrove Tuesday: Come and join us in the coffee dock for a delicious Pancake served with Syrup and a Smile. Past Pupils Annual Mass: The Annual Mass for all Past Pupils of the Dominican Convent Dun Laoghaire will be held in the Primary School Hall, Convent Rd at 3pm on Sunday next 21st February. All past pupils welcome. Presentation News: The Presentation Brothers' Associates are organising a coffee morning on Sunday 28th February to raise funds for the Brothers' Mission in Ghana. All the proceeds will go towards educating the youth in the Logre region where the Brothers have a Primary School. Please come and support this worthy cause. Presentation Brothers' Associates are organising an outing to Mount Sion in Waterford on the 6th March to visit where Blessed Edmund Rice founded the Presentation Brothers in 1802. Any parishioner interested in going with the associates please let Ellen Moiselle (086 350 2610) or Br Raymond (087 616 2629) know before the 26th of February so that we can organise transport. Learn a new language for Lent! “Silence is God's first language…in order to hear that language, we must learn to be still and to rest in God”, writes the Trappist monk, Thomas Keating. Every Tuesday evening at 8pm you can experience the stillness of Christian meditation in the Parish Centre. New members always welcome. Zambian Immersion Project - CBC: Thank you to the Priests of the Parish, those involved in the Pastoral Centre and the Parishioners of St Joseph's, Glasthule for supporting our Cake & Book Sale on Sunday the 7th February. It was a great success. We know there have been many demands on your generosity recently. Despite this our event raised €2,596.05. Thank You! Erik Goulding & Adam Keane and all on the ZIP Team The Gospel of Luke: As part of the Celebration of the Year of Evangelisation, we would like every family in the Parish to receive a copy of the Gospel of Luke. If you haven't already got a copy please take one as you leave the Church today. Harold School: The students of the Harold School raised €2,067 last week for Haiti. Over the past two weeks our Parishioners have contributed €11,023 to the three appeals for Haiti. What a generous Parish we have.
