Third Sunday of Easter Mon 7th April - St John Baptist de la Salle, Priest Fri 11th April - St Stanislaus, Bishop and Martyr Year of Vocation: The Catholic Church in Ireland has dedicated the period of Vocations Sunday on 13th April 2008 to Vocations Sunday on 3rd May 2009 as a 'Year of Vocation’ The Theme for the year is “You will be my witnesses”. (Acts 1:8) Eucharistic Prayer Meetings: Over 300 Parishioners participated in Eucharistic Prayer Meetings in Host Homes, Nursing Homes and the Beaufort Centre during the week Monday 10th to Friday 14th March – surely a fitting preparation for the following week, Holy Week. Our thanks are due to all concerned, the Hosts, the Ministers of the Eucharist and the Sacristans who attended at the Sacristy for many hours during the week. Senior Citizens Club: Takes place every Wednesday at 2:30 p.m. in the Parish Centre. Congratulations: Congratulations to Sarai and Chengeto Jeyacheya, Zimbabwe and to Maggie Namakundo, Zambia who were received into the Catholic Church on Holy Saturday night in St Michael’s Church Dun Laoghaire. They are receiving Holy Communion here in St Joseph’s Church today. Congratulations also to Cian and Patrick Cahill, England (Harold School) who are making their First Holy Communion today. Apostolic Workers: Meet on Thursdays between 2:30 - 4 p.m. in the Parish Centre. New members are always welcome. Blackrock Hospice: The monthly Coffee Morning in aid of Blackrock Hospice which took place last Sunday raised €1,000. Thanks to all those who contributed to this very worthy cause. Knock Senior Citizens: Holiday from Friday 30th May to Thursday 5th June at St Catherine’s Laboure Holiday home: €300 plus € 50 Coach If you are interested please contact Sr Imelda in the Parish Centre next to the Church. Recently Deceased: Prayers are requested for the souls of Barney Ward, Killiney: Lily Garvey, Elton Park: Sheila Curran, Rochestown Avenue: Philip McNamara, Limerick, brother of Martin, Noelle Owens, Glengara Nursing Home and Fr Michael Lambe Retired Parish Priest, Lucan formerly Curate in Glasthule. May they rest in peace. |
