Stained Glass Restoration Fund: Last week’s collection for the Stained Glass Restoration Fund amounted to €901.Thanks to all those who contributed so generously...

St Vincent de Paul: The Annual Diocesan Collection for the Society of St Vincent de Paul takes place at all Masses this weekend 8th and 9th December. It will replace the Share Collection. Please be as generous as you can.

Waiting in Joyful Hope: There will be three days of Prayer and Reflection in Preparation for Christmas here in St Joseph’s Church Glasthule from tomorrow Monday 10th December to Wednesday 12th December.

The Speakers will be: Senator Ronan Mullen “Christmas with the Celtic Tiger” 7.30pm Monday 10th December
Jacki and Tom Ascough – Parents of a Young Family “Christmas as a Family” 7.30pm Tuesday 11th December
Brother Martin Kenneally Congregation Leader-Presentation Brothers “With Joyful Hope” 7.30pm Wednesday 12th December

Parish Carol Service: This year’s Carol Service will be held here in St Joseph’s Church on Sunday Next 16th December at 5pm. All three Choirs will be participating.

World Youth Day 2008: Three of our young parishioners Emma, Lisa, and Davina will be representing the Parish on their Pilgrimage to World Youth Day Sydney 2008. To aid their funding, they will be selling mince pies outside the Church today Sunday December 9th after each Mass.

Christmas Cards: We now have a nice selection of Christmas Cards and Calendars available from our Bookshop.

Christmas Day Lunch: The 21st Annual Gala Lunch, for people living on their own and the elderly will be held in the Club Room, Blackrock College Rugby Club, Stradbrook from 10:30 – 3pm. A donation of Spot Prizes will be greatly appreciated. Free Transport by Ed Kenny Coaches leaving Glasthule Car Park at 11:20 am approx. Enquiries: Tel 280 4776

Lourdes Jubilee 1858 – 2008 (36th Parish Pilgrimage): We wish to notify everyone that next year is jubilee Year in Lourdes. Lourdes is celebrating 150 years since Our Lady first appeared there. Due to the huge demand for rooms next year we are limited to 80 seats, 62 of which are already gone. This is why we are mentioning this so early. So we are asking people who are interested to let us know now if you wish to go to Lourdes. It is on a first come first served basis. If you have not been with us recently, why not return on this very special occasion? The Pilgrimage takes place from the 28th August to 4th Sept 2008. Details: Contact Cyril Carden: Tel: 2803397.
