John Tiernan visited Assisi in June 2008 and the story of Francis made a deep impression on him. John is a teacher in the Marist College, Athlone, and has played senior county football for Roscommon. John was a member of the Athlone Fairtrade committee I worked with while in Athlone in 2005/2006.
